TOTAL AREA: 4.500 M²
STUDY: 2010
DESCRIPTION
This project seemed to “ask” for a basic idea which could unify the public space of the ground level with the facades of the buildings surrounding it.
The floor is given thoroughly to the pedestrians forming a Y in the center of witch the building of Diplarios School will dominate.
Also, this basic concept had furthermore to be an application that does not cover or hide the existing structures.
Getting all the above together, the idea of a web, a deconstructed grid net, has it origins in the borders of the buildings and runs throughout the floor and then is projected on the facades.
Schematically, one can conceive the fibers of the web as the intersection of vertical levels which unite the buildings’ borders with the floor and the facades.
These fibers are represented actually by light beams, light tubes which run on narrow canals on the granite floor and on metal columns on the facades.
In conclusion, plantation on the site has been put entirely on the roofs and on the sidewalls. This way a great amount of greenery is achieved.
